Who We Are

ManaEd Ltd ("ManaEd", "we", "us", "our") is a company incorporated in New Zealand. We operate two products:

  • ManaEd — a simulation-based learning platform for tertiary and vocational educators
  • ManaEd Foundations — a simulation-based learning platform for K–12 and special education settings

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information. Where practices differ between products, we note this explicitly.

What Information We Collect

ManaEd (tertiary/vocational):

We collect information about teacher and educator accounts only:

  • Name and email address
  • Institution name
  • Subscription and billing details (processed by Stripe)
  • Simulation usage data (session counts, timestamps)
  • Platform activity logs

We do not store personally identifiable information about students in ManaEd. Student participation is facilitated through session codes without requiring student account creation.

ManaEd Foundations (K–12 / special education):

In addition to educator account data, Foundations may collect and store:

  • Student names and identifiers (as entered by the educator)
  • Student progress and observation records
  • Notes and reports generated by educators about students
ManaEd Foundations is intended for use by institutions and educators. It is the responsibility of the institution to ensure appropriate consent has been obtained from parents or guardians in accordance with applicable law before entering student data into the platform.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve our products
  • Manage your account and subscription
  • Send transactional communications (receipts, account notices, support responses)
  • Monitor usage for billing accuracy (simulation run counts)
  • Respond to support requests
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data for advertising purposes.

4

AI Processing

Both products use AI features powered by OpenAI's API. When you interact with AI-driven features — such as simulation facilitators, observation assistants, or report generators — the relevant input data is transmitted to OpenAI for processing.

  • Inputs to AI features are processed on OpenAI's servers, which may be located outside Australia and New Zealand
  • OpenAI's data processing is governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy
  • We do not send more data than is necessary for the AI feature to function
If you are using Foundations and entering student information that may be submitted to AI features, please ensure your institution's data governance policies permit this before use.
